What version of PHP are you using? Print

The PHP version used by your website is selected for its domain. Different domains on the same hosting account can use different versions, so there is not necessarily one answer for every site.

Check your domain

In cPanel, open MultiPHP Manager, if available, and find the domain. Review the PHP version shown for that domain. If the interface is unavailable or the domain inherits a version, contact us for confirmation.

Before changing versions

  • Check the requirements of WordPress, plugins, themes, and other applications.
  • Make a current backup and test the change on a staging copy where practical.
  • Confirm that required PHP extensions are available for the target version.
  • Test the site's important functions, including forms, checkout, and scheduled tasks.

Changing the command-line PHP executable does not necessarily change the PHP version serving your website. An old configuration-report link may also show a different environment from the domain you are checking.

If an update causes errors, contact us with the affected domain and the time of the change. Do not leave a public phpinfo() page online; it can disclose configuration details.
