Acer NeWeb Corp., the Acer Group's advanced wireless technology and data communications division, and NetRail, Inc., a nationwide broadband services provider, today announced a strategic partnership whereby Acer NeWeb's cutting-edge wireless technology forms one of the first applications of NetRail's Universal Networking Solutions.

This agreement expands Acer NeWeb's focus as a wireless technology provider. "Acer NeWeb recognizes the growing demand to integrate advanced Internet services with its Bluetooth and wireless networking solutions," said Sonny Hsieh, vice president and general manager of Acer NeWeb. Acer NeWeb's current wireless home and SOHO networking solution, the WarpLink™ Communicator Card, facilitates sharing of Internet access, files and peripherals among multiple PCs. WarpLink™ eliminates the need for the complicated wiring of traditional networking and does not require the user to be tied to one specific location.

NetRail's Universal Networking Solutions enable Network Service Providers, such as wireless carriers, to deliver the highest quality data services to their customers. This strategic partnership promotes NetRail's vision of utilizing its Tier One architecture to optimize advanced data and video applications for a wide range of devices including PDA's, PCs and mobile wireless units.

NetRail's customers will now be able to offer WarpLink™ to their end-users, complementing their broadband solutions with wireless networking hardware. Now the end user can easily share DSL access with minimal expense. This added option enhances NetRail's line of customized carrier solutions. The partners also plan to integrate NetRail's broadband services with Acer NeWeb's Bluetooth™ solutions.
