Provisioning Engineer/Project Manager |
Position will require someone with solid data and telephony
experience, i.e. end-to-end Telco ordering and provisioning
(Frame Relay, Point to Point, OCx, DS3, DS1 etc...,) router
and switch configuration, IP allocation, and Frame Relay
PVC & ATM VCI/VPI design, as well as experience in owning
and project managing the entire process. Managing our vendor
relationships, as well as internal relations with our Sales
and Customer Service Departments will be a requisite.

PERL5 Developer |
Reports to: Director of MIS
Salary Range: $60k - $75k
Job Description:
The PERL5/Database Developer will be responsible for the
planning, development, staging, and maintenance of all in-house
software. This includes, but is not limited to additions
and modifications to our existing OSS systems, ticketing
software, physical security software, reporting tools, monitoring
extensions, etc., etc., etc. Most software will need to
work with an internal Oracle 8i database, so database experience
will be required.
Developer will work closely with the rest of the MIS department
as well as the engineering department to accomplish the
goals at hand. Will work especially closely with Oracle
DBA.
Requirements:
Candidate must have 2-4 years experience with PERL5 in a
unix environment and 1-2 years experience with Oracle 8i
or another production RDBMS system. Must have good working
knowledge of database module call routines in PERL, and
experience using SQL to perform queries and updates. Basic
working knowledge of the unix operating system (specifically
Solaris and BSD) required. Extended unix experience a plus.

Webmaster |

Salary Range: $35k - $40k
Job Description:
The webmaster will be responsible for NetRail's website
and intranet; maintenance and new design. This includes
NetRail's internal OSS, engineering and operations intranet,
and other various websites hosted internally.
Requirements:
Candidate must have artistic abilities as well as good working
knowledge of HTML, PERL, and JavaScript. The webmaster will
also be maintaining NetRail's OSS, Engineering and Operations
intranets, etc. Must work well with others. Candidate should
also have 1-3 years experience, samples, and good references.

IT Helpdesk Technician |
Reports to: Director of MIS
Salary Range: $35k - $40k
Job Description:
IT Helpdesk Technicial shall be the first point of contact
for all customer (including the internal customers - sales,
operations, and engineering) interaction (problems, questions,
etc.) and the primary POC for all Windows client troubleshooting.
The helpdesk will also be responsible for logging (via a
ticketing system) all incoming problems and project requests,
and be the primary followup to the customer for deadlines,
status, etc. Will work closely with the rest of the MIS
department to attain deadline information, and delegate
tasks based on individual role in the department.
Requirements:
Candidate should have exceptional Windows 98/2000/NT troubleshooting
skills as well as exceptional people skills. Although project
management is not part of the role, project management skills
are required to perform delegation and deadline reporting,
etc.

Systems Administrator |
Reports to: Director of MIS
Salary Range: $40k - $50k Job Description: This person
will be responsible for NetRail's production network servers
and all underlying network services including SMTP, POP3,
DNS, SNMP, RADIUS, MRTG graphing, web services, and more.
Other responsibilities include PERL scripting for various
miscellaneous tasks, network security, keeping the NetRail
website up-to-date, and the maintenance and stability of
all other network servers in our intranet.
This person will also work with one or two other sysadmins
and will also work with MIS to build a solid, fully integrated
infrastructure between our OSS, ERP, and other facilities.
Requirements:
Candidate should have 1-3 years experience with the Unix
operating system, both System V and BSD based, as well as
solid PERL scripting abilities. Must have an understanding
of network protocols (SMTP, POP3, etc) and their underlying
services including but not limited to SMTP, POP3, DNS, HTTP,
HTTPS, SNMP, DHCP, SSH, etc. Oracle 8i experience a plus.

Territory Manager |
Reports to: Regional Vice-President
Job Summary:
Selling Netrail's host of products and services to prospects
in the assigned territory including ISPs, ASPs, CLECs, and
other emerging next generation service providers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Account planning - identifying and managing prospects in
assigned territory; Presentations - demonstrating Netrail's
technological capabilities; Selling - closing sales of Netrail's
products and services to prospects in assigned territory,
meeting and exceeding assigned sales quota; Problem solving
and decision-making - solving customer problems through
positive interaction with other NetRail departments; Reporting
- sales forecast reporting to management; Base management
- ensure customer retention and protect existing revenues.
Perform other related duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong knowledge and understanding of the Internet, ATM,
Frame Relay and IP. Excellent prospecting skills. Experienced
successfully selling at the President/CEO/CTO level. Excellent
presentation skills. Strong people skills and ability to
interrelate to individuals at all levels. Ability to establish
priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives
without supervision. Ability to handle and resolve recurring
problems. PC literate and experienced with MS Office (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer & Outlook).
Credentials and Experience:
College degree and two years related experience (preferably
"Carrier Sales") or equivalent combination of education
and experience.

Atlanta SE |
The Sales Engineer is responsible for pre-sales consultations
with customers to determine their technical service needs.
The SE will configure orders for Internet access and related
telecommunications data services. The SE also provides a
liaison with the operations department to resolve any customer-specific
technical problems, and to keep abreast of changes in network
status and the relevant technology issues. SEs must have
a broad understanding of LAN and WAN data communications,
carrier/LEC provisioning, ATM, Frame Relay, and especially
IP routing. Supporting knowledge of DNS, FTP, SMTP/POP3,
and PC/Server Operating Systems is also valuable, although
not essential. SEs must also be customer-savvy, with good
interpersonal and presentation skills. A professional image
is essential. Travel is variable, from 10-50%, but typically
not more than 2-3 days at a time. Headquarters location
is Atlanta, GA. We have openings in Atlanta, the Midwest,
and the West Coast.
