About PageUP

The work stays close to the person responsible for it.

PageUP is an owner-led web development and technology practice established in 2003. Alan Pace works directly with clients across strategy, architecture, implementation, and ongoing problem-solving, using AI to expand capacity without handing off responsibility.

Built through real client work

The business changed because the work changed.

PageUP began with website work in 2003. Over time, the responsibilities around those websites became more important and more connected: hosting and maintenance, custom functionality, ecommerce, forms, permissions, reporting, integrations, advertising, infrastructure, and continuing technical support.

The current service range was not assembled as a list of trends. It grew from practical client problems that did not stop at the edge of a webpage.

The technologies changed. The responsibility to understand the operation and build something useful did not.

  1. Web foundations

    Design, development, hosting, maintenance, and direct client support established the working foundation.

  2. Connected operations

    Forms, records, permissions, documents, reporting, ecommerce, and integrations moved the work beyond brochure websites.

  3. Systems judgment

    Custom WordPress applications and years of NetSuite ERP customization strengthened decisions about data, roles, workflows, exceptions, and operational change.

  4. Practical AI

    AI became another tool for defined business problems, including customer guidance, workforce learning, research, testing, and production support.

Direct accountability

Owner-led means the important decisions do not disappear into handoffs.

Clients work directly with the person responsible for understanding the problem, defining the architecture, making implementation decisions, and verifying the result. There is no account-management layer translating the work between the client and an unseen production team.

That does not mean every answer is known in advance or that every project uses the same tool. It means questions, limits, tradeoffs, and changes remain connected to the person accountable for the work.

Understand the operation
Learn what people are trying to accomplish, what information they use, where responsibility changes, and what can go wrong.
Make the architectural decisions
Choose the structure, platform, data relationships, integrations, and boundaries appropriate to the problem.
Build and verify
Connect implementation decisions to saved, working behavior across ordinary and exception paths.
Remain accountable
Document the result, preserve recovery paths, communicate limitations, and continue supporting work that remains active.

The value of an owner-led model is not that one person claims to know everything. It is that responsibility stays visible.

Experience across the system

A website decision is often an operational decision in disguise.

PageUP's experience crosses the public interface and the systems behind it. That breadth helps reveal dependencies that a page-only approach can miss.

Websites and WordPress
Strategy, information architecture, content, Divi 5 implementation, custom functionality, responsive behavior, accessibility, launches, and continuing technical work.
Applications, records, and workflows
Gravity Forms and GravityView applications, portals, permissions, documents, signatures, communications, reporting, migration, and custom PHP.
Ecommerce and learning systems
WooCommerce, subscriptions, catalogs, customer journeys, LearnDash, payment-related workflows, and the operational states around access and renewal.
ERP-informed architecture
Several years of NetSuite customization inform decisions about data, roles, approvals, integrations, reporting, exceptions, and change over time.
Acquisition and infrastructure
Analytics, Google Ads, attribution, DNS, email, SSL, hosting and server operations, launch troubleshooting, and the practical boundaries between PageUP and North Dallas Hosting.

These are connected experience areas, not a claim that every project needs every capability.

AI with explicit responsibility

AI expands the work. It does not own the decision.

PageUP uses AI to extend research, planning, development, testing, analysis, documentation, and production capacity. That makes it possible to investigate more thoroughly, compare more options, test more paths, and document work that previously competed directly with implementation time.

The owner remains responsible for defining the problem, selecting the tools, checking the output, protecting client information, recognizing uncertainty, and deciding what is ready to use. AI is part of the working method—not an employee, department, autonomous adviser, or substitute for judgment.

Appropriate uses
  • research and structured comparison;
  • content and architecture development;
  • code development and review;
  • test planning and repeated verification;
  • data and workflow analysis;
  • documentation and recovery preparation;
  • production assistance under human review.
Responsibility boundaries
  • client context and goals must guide the work;
  • sensitive information requires deliberate handling;
  • generated output must be reviewed and tested;
  • uncertainty and limitations must remain visible;
  • consequential decisions remain human responsibilities;
  • public claims require evidence rather than AI-generated confidence.

How decisions are made

Use the right tool, document the decision, and verify the result.

  1. Begin with the operation

    Understand the people, responsibilities, records, evidence, exceptions, and desired outcome before selecting a platform.

  2. Choose for fit

    Use familiar technology when it fits, custom development when it is justified, and a simpler solution when complexity adds no value.

  3. Make boundaries explicit

    Distinguish what the system does, what people remain responsible for, and what requires confirmation or another professional.

  4. Build for continuation

    Use maintainable structures, reusable components, documentation, and recovery material rather than treating launch as the end.

  5. Test the saved result

    Verify content, links, responsive behavior, accessibility, permissions, integrations, and exception paths in the system people will actually use.

  6. Improve from evidence

    Use observed behavior, logs, analytics, support questions, and operational feedback without inventing outcomes the evidence does not support.

The standard is not technical novelty. It is a dependable result that makes sense in the organization using it.

Experience measured in responsibility

Long relationships create context that a single project cannot.

Some of PageUP's strongest work developed through relationships that continued for more than a decade. That continuity makes it possible to understand how the website, advertising, customer questions, internal processes, records, reporting, and future projects affect one another.

New client work benefits from the same discipline: understand the current situation, define responsibility clearly, build the right structure, and preserve what will matter after launch.

Two connected responsibilities

PageUP builds solutions. North Dallas Hosting manages WordPress websites.

PageUP
Substantial website builds and rebuilds, custom applications, business systems, integrations, ecommerce, practical AI, and selected measurement and acquisition work.
North Dallas Hosting
Managed WordPress hosting, maintenance, security, support, care, and migrations for organizations that need dependable continuing website operations.

The brands remain connected, but they serve different decisions. A project may begin with PageUP and continue under North Dallas Hosting, or an existing hosting relationship may reveal work that belongs with PageUP.

Start with the real need

Bring the problem—not a finished specification.

Describe what the organization needs to accomplish, what is getting in the way, and what already exists. PageUP can help define the right next step, whether the answer is a website, a workflow, an integration, an application, practical AI, ecommerce, or a combination of them.
